Sun and stars, moon of my life

Is this not the time, is this not the place? Time is all you have

The phrase no man is an island has been on my mind a lot recently, I've been thinking today how strange and beautiful the world is. The truth is, it dulls out the noise of the things that trouble me; when I see pouring rain over the ocean, forests of trees with wild rivers and mountains that look like stairways to the sky, I feel calm.

There will come a day when the stars fall from heaven, all except seven, I'm seated on horse with my face toward Taurus and i'm travellin'

I've always danced to the beat of my own drum, I've never been one for too much convention or society. The older I get the more I feel as though I'm a nomad, no set home, simply chapters taken from an adventure, one at a time carefully placed before me to write.

Great spirit, I have had it, bring me back to the nomadic

A friend once said 'it's nice to have somewhere to come back to' and while that's true to an extent, I don't believe that it needs to be only one place. I grew up in a different place than I live now, I have moved away, I have moved back. More than one place feel like home to me. I've always sat on the outside of my friendships, as though I'm stumbling just a step behind the rest of my world, my generation. Like the words they understand don't always make sense to me.

He's got me talking in my sleep, he's got me waking in my dreams...

I've always been a wandering spirit, when the time feels right I move on. Except the older we get the harder that seems to be. We find ourselves committed with a group of friends and family and work that if we were to keep wondering we may lose forever. Yet there's always a part of me that's ready for the road, that if given the chance I would step out of that door and not turn back.

For a while that's had me feeling like a fraud, like i'm lying to everyone around me when I say i'm settled. Except it's not a lie. I am very settled, my life does feel settled and centered full of people that inspire me and are creative and like minded.

The only way I can describe it, is as though I have two lives; I have the career, friends, home life and I have the nomadic wanderer life, most of the time I am the first so it feels difficult when the latter starts making me feel like I want to pack my bag and make a break for it.

Wake the dreams into realities... the language of no words is how we speak...and a littlebear singin' by the fireside...

The truth is, that if you make someone or something your everything than you always stand to lose it, if you can accept that things never stay the same, they grow, they may develop or they may end than you feel less likely to lose everything. I've come to realise that the nomad is LITTLEBEARWOLF. It's that little voice that said, I dare you. Start a blog, write something, write anything. Take those things you love and make them real. It's the little part of me, that stops me feeling as though my world will fall apart. It's the little part of me that when everything else is dark, shines bright in the sky like the moon and calms my spirit.

Tap me out and tap me into you, heal my brain and my body too, balance my chemistry, hydrate these cells, because the body talks and meditation helps

It's part of me, so while no man is an island, not all those who wonder are lost.

When I have those times that feel as though I only want to be out there in the world somewhere walking through a city or a forest, I don't feel guilty. It's simply my own way of saying keep going, keep learning, keep exploring, it's not the end yet.

I've noticed that when I am happy and things are good, I don't so much feel as though I want to leave, it's when things are difficult and the road seems dark that I realise I want to be out there, over the hills anywhere but here. That's when I know it's more important than ever to think about where I am standing and what direction I am facing. That being said sometimes a good old wander is the only way to clear your thoughts.

Nahko and Medicine for the people are a tribe, a tribe that though I've never met them, I feel part of them. Their words, their songs and their lives bring me peace, bring me healing and bring me light. Today though it's been dark i've felt as though I've had a friend by my side, I realise that's medicine for the people.

Little bit of cinnamon pours as we snoot, all up on my shit in the morning commute...

Our planet is our home, it's our only home amongst the vast expanse of space. We make her sick, we bleed her dry, we smother her atmosphere with pollutants and we aren't much better towards even those closest to us. I've decided to free my wandering spirit, let her roam the world as she pleases. Medicine for the people is the healing I needed in my life and I hope through the universal language of music it will be yours.

Great spirit for my sisters, let me be a flowing river, flood the banks, the rocks that bind her, carry I'll carry, great spirit for my brothers, let me be a mountain under which he climbs to discover his process now that's progress.

IT'S A BLOGGERS LIFE FOR ME

I put my heart into my music blog and it seems fair that I do the same with cove; the lifestyle, journal, fashion and beauty side of LBW. I decided to start a second blog when it was clear that the music aspect of my blog was it's central core. As the music progressed into more than reviews after a shift in the shop, I then found that the little corner of the web I had created for myself, after months of reading BeckyBedbug, EffiesMakeUpBox & NotSoCity (back then Jennie Masters) those three girls without even knowing it saved my life. was no longer a place for ramblings, I decided to create a separate space on the web for that side of my writing.
It just so happened then summer came along and I got so busy with all things music, that I then couldn't keep it updated, so I've spent the last two months racking my brains as to how I can fit everything in and that's when it struck me.
The reason I was struggling to keep it all together was because of the words of another. This shadow that kept trying to overpower me, I realized was no friend when she stated that my work needed to have no face, because people don't want to know a girl like me. I put my energy into believing that. It wasn't long before I realized the face of my work is actually what people connect with, that I realized, was why I was struggling to create content.
The thing is and bloggers you will know this, is that when you create a post your readers connect with you as a person. I find people tell me they like my personable way of writing, my personality in my work. So I vow never again to let the words of another bring me down.
I've suffered with anxiety for a good few years now, it started as a kid, I would have crippling panic attacks when I felt scared. I managed to overcome these by the age of 16 but after getting my heartbroken at 18 and ending up in several downward spiralling relationships and a personal rut, the anxiety came back in the form of fear.
I never attended college meet ups, stopped attending auditions and eventually managed to convince myself I was never going to amount to anything interesting and that life was work, houses and chores. As a creative person, this not only brought me down but managed to bring me to a standstill.
I made one last vain attempt to free myself from my demons, I cut out the people in my life who brought me down, I quit my job, ended my relationship, everything but cut my hair. (One bad haircut from my mum, my best friend Caz - I still remember crying and Stingray from neighbors (long story) was enough to persuade me to keep it long and stop going for daring cuts.)
I remember buying company magazine, it had become the light in a dark place and I loved it's colourful pages, pretty clothes but mostly it's bloggers, street stylers and beauty queens. The fact that they were for the most part real girls, took away my crippling fear and made me feel that maybe just maybe one day, I could be much like them.
It led me to Jennie Masters fashion blog, I loved her style, it partly reminded me of my own except I'd never had the confidence to talk about it. The blog I found alongside this one was BeckyBedbug. Between these two girls, there was rarely a day I didn't log on, to see if a new post would be there for me to read.
As I began to look for more blogs I came across EffiesMakeUpBox, so cool. I LOVED the outfit posts and I started to read more and more blogs until one day I decided to start my own. I thought this is it, this is the moment my life will turn around. So I sat eagerly planning my blog and posts, only to discover that it wasn't easy, I couldn't create an empire or look stunning in my outfits and I began to deflate again.
Then while listening to music a 'review' fell out of a case. I used to review every CD I bought and write the review on a piece of A4 paper and tuck it inside the case in case someone in hundreds of years were to find it and wonder what it was like, they might not be able to play it if a new form of technology took over CD's!
I thought about it when the phone rang, Mel 'hey do you want to go to a gig tonight?' we trundled down to a pub in Portsmouth and watched the band play. I found myself excited and after went home and typed a review. (The story doesn't end there but I could write all day about the journey that followed.) So to summarize LITTLEBEARWOLF was born.
Fashion and beauty were hard for someone with little to no self esteem to write about, music has and always will be a massive passion of mine and throughout my darkest times it was there to create a moment of bliss.
The journey that led me to here has meant a boost in esteem, confidence and knowing that following my passions is what makes my life happy.
That character that has evolved is me and the heart I put into my work comes from that character and passion. So I'll never again take the personality out of what I do.
In fact if anything, it's made me feel stronger as a blogger.
I only recently started to watch vlogs. It wasn't long until I came across Zoella. Firstly like the blogs I first read all those months ago, the thing that drew me into her videos was that I felt I could connect with Zoe. As if in a another life or time we'd be friends. I liked her personable nature and when I watched her videos about anxiety, it sealed the deal that she'd be added to my list of inspiring blogger people.
The trouble is though, when you have a blog that you pour your life and soul into, it becomes very personal. I sort of think it becomes your horcrux, the one you didn't mean to make. A little part of your soul goes into it, meaning when people (not Harry Potter as we're not all demon wizards trying to destroy humanity, i'm talking more about internet trolls and gollum like 'friends') so when people say or do hurtful things to it, it's personal and painful.
It's because I can tell you first hand it's bloody hard work running a blog. It's the greatest thing I've ever done but it's everyday of my life, being me and the musicians I work with, people sometimes expect you to be on it 24/7 when actually I'll be hiding in Skyrim building my archery skills just to feel an escape from the world.
People who don't have the fire (by fire I mean creativity, inspiration, motivation and get up and go) to create their own piece of happiness, they turn to destroying the people who have.
I thought that by now being in the adult world that people would be more compassionate than to try and turn others against those they are envious of. If Bowling for soup taught me anything, it's that high school never ends. So unfortunately where light shines, darkness dwells.

What's important to remember here bloggers is that they will never be you. We each alone have the power to be us and make our own stories as incredible and exciting as we desire.
I've met non-blogger types who say it's pointless and a bunch of teenagers making videos about lipstick, but I don't need to explain myself to them. They are entitled to their opinion.
Blogging brought me a whole new world, new people, new places and experiences.
Blogging is a huge community of people that can express themselves in areas they are passionate about for hobbies, part of or all of their work. It's a big industry that's ever growing and one day maybe we'll all be doing something different, we're not hurting anyone, we're simply sharing things with others that make our lives happy. Be it bands, make up, help for conditions like anxiety or local business' worth checking out.
So to those who down on bloggers and tell us we're wasting our time, I ask what they're doing with theirs that provides them with the power to control others.
A wise tutor turned friend once told me 'they accept convention and when someone challenges convention, they worry that you may break the convention and they realise they could be doing it differently. Without the willpower and motivation they never will, so their only power is their hold over you'.

Here are a selection of blogs that provide me with inspiration and the bloggers who have become my friends and colleagues.

Just in case you'd like to take a wander to my music blog LITTLEBEARWOLF you can!

The above blogs are my faves, I read others and always like to read more so feel free to comment below with your links. Either through email, tweets or blogging I've come to know these bloggers and have respect for each of them.
We each forge our own paths in life, whether we know it or not we all have the power to be creative. It took me a long time to feel as worthy as some of the bloggers above but when I got to know them I came to realise just how lovely they were and human too. They each have their own magic and have helped me to find mine.

† ☾ BEYOND THE REALM OF DREAMS ☾ †

Hello,

Star Wars still 'Lightspeed' //Photo from Google
I've got a million features to write or so it feels like for LBW music blog this week; truth to be told there are so many exciting things going on with LBW at the moment that I feel like i'm constantly on light-speed mode! (I'm certainly not complaining, LBW is extremely important to me, just sometimes I feel more like i'm being swept out to sea over navigating her across oceans.)

I figured perhaps writing here might help me slow enough to actually process everything properly. I read quite a few blogs and constantly look for new blogs and bloggers to network with. I've found really since being a shell of a girl starting out without really a direction or compass to navigate; that I nowadays feel like this empowered warrior that I become when i'm making strides in my dreams. Then there's the days like this, that I am this twenty something girl that still feels a little like the ocean is claiming her rather than being tamed by her.

Except both of those people I just described are me. So why do I insist on torturing myself when it seems there just aren't enough hours in the day? Why do I tell myself I have to be the warrior or the girl? Because i'm human. Because I spent the first half of my years being told to learn and dream of the future and the second half of my years being told to work and to understand that dreams don't come true.

Sherlock's mind palace // Image from weheartit
I never dreamed I would create, run or even develop LITTLEBEARWOLF. When I look at it now, I see all the paths before me that I can step onto, Sometimes I need to take stock of the fact that I created that, I stopped surrounding myself with people who said it would never happen, I stopped dwelling on the if's and maybe's and I just started writing.
That's my healing. Turning thoughts into words, helps to clear my mind, to allow my mind palace to locate the information it needs for the task ahead.

Except sometimes even when the only thing you want to do is write, you can't. Like a bird that learns it has a broken wing, writers that cannot write feel trapped. That's when I turned to reading, I didn't have the time to settle into a novel, I have plenty to read but that needs time. So I started to read blogs. Blogs of every variety, fashion, music, lifestyle, travel; that's when I found my answer. It's not the feeling of not being able to write because of a lack of inspiration, sometimes it's just the motivation. The thing you love most, can sometimes feel like Everest, you wonder how on earth you ever tackled it in the first place. A favourite of mine to read is SCARPHELIA. Katie has a way with words that feels like she's stepped into my mind and is saying out aloud what I am thinking.
I find peace in reading Katie's work, it makes me feel i'm not alone. It's like I have this friend who understands everything i'm thinking. What I like most is Scarphelia's honesty. Life isn't perfect, when we find imperfections we face them and grow from them, Scarphelia does just that, there's no brushing life under the rug of 'look at my perfect lifestyle of tea and summer dresses' it's honest writing from the heart. For that reason I find Katie both an inspiration to my art and treasure, like that book you hide, to read when you need the escape most.

LBW as those of you know who read, has become my professional space which left me feeling a little homeless on the internet. My corner I had created to write about music I loved and things I enjoyed, no longer belonged to just me and as it became more obvious that my passion and drive for LBW was heading towards a professional stance, I needed a new corner, somewhere I could spill words into to clear my head.

I find myself posed with the challenge, that as a professional I must not share too many thoughts on the internet, I must not post anything negative that will put people off working with me. Though this is certainly something to consider, as a blogger and artist I want to be able to share my whole-self with you.
You won't find juicy gossip or mindless words of deceit because I try to steer clear of all that in my day to day life let alone on the internet. You will find personal posts, posts that I hope give my readers something to hold onto. I hope you'll continue to join me on LBW for all things music as well as LBWC for my journey, my ramblings and all my thoughts about this entirely terrifying yet magical adventure we call life.

Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events and small minds discuss people.

I know how I intend to spend my days, what will you do with yours?

† ☾ I G N O R A N C E I S B L I S S ☾ †

There's what, like 7 BILLION people on the planet. Of course that means there's going to be people that you don't get on with, don't agree with or perhaps you just don't like.

I try not to dislike anyone, unless they truly prove themselves useless to the greater good of humanity. In those instances I simply do my best to block them out and forget they even exist, let's face it after their meaningless existence is over no one else is going to remember them.

There are a few things I think all of humanity should take into consideration at this point though. At no point in life just because YOU don't like someone else are you given the right to:

*Intend, Plan or cause actual bodily harm to that person, their loved ones or anything that belongs to them.
*Say malicious untrue things about that person, their family or friends.
*Act in a vicious manner toward that person, their family or their friends.

The cold truth of it is, that these people who do any of the above are only vermin to humanity. When they say malicious things about others and treat others in a negative derogatory manner they are only making themselves look bad.

I was going to tell you about some people here that act in just that way to many people in their lives, I figured it was better to not waste any time on them, I mean after all by talking about their negative points here, i'd only be doing exactly what they do to others. Instead as i'm sure they'll never happen upon this feature, i'll be polite and keep myself to myself and not bother in their business. Maybe one day they'll behave that way to others.

It seems to be a subject that many people suffer with, from emotional bullying in relationships, friendships, to bullying from their neighbors and colleagues. It's a lot harder to stand up to bullies when the bullies are adults. Remember the rules are the same, they're only bullying you because of something they aren't able to face in themselves.

The best thing you can do (no matter how hard) is be polite, ignore them and in time they'll realise the only person that's not moving on and not being responsible is them. They'll also realise that not only are you not bothered by their childish attempts to cause drama but that your life doesn't need it to thrive upon.

GREAT MINDS DISCUSS IDEAS, AVERAGE MINDS DISCUSS EVENTS, SMALL MINDS DISCUSS PEOPLE

So let that person waste their energy on attempting to bother you, because they're only wasting their own time. You only have a select amount of time in this life, in the flash of a second it could be over, so don't worry about what other people are up to. The present is the only time you can make a difference in your life.

☾ ♬ T H E // C U R E ♬ ☾

Aloha,

I've had a very odd couple of days. Very odd indeed. It started off blissfully with a trip to Queen Elizabeth country park; which is by far one of my favourite places in England. Just a few steps off one of the busiest A roads; yet five minutes of walking and wind direction dependent the noise of the traffic just falls away to silence and nature envelopes it's tourist's in beauty and awe-inspiring sights.

It was while wandering around the country park and lying on the grass looking to the sky, I realised I don't ever stop anymore. Not a single day goes by that I don't tweet or share something online. Even sometimes just a photo but ultimately I never stop. I sleep seconds away from my phone, charging and on loud just incase I need to be woken from my sleep to work or be online. Oh KG, the nineties judges you.

You're that keen to work that you're willing to put your most primitive of needs second. No wonder the next 24 hours were the longest day of your life.
I had recently watched 'The Internship' (I don't normally go for Vaughn, Wilson combos but this particular film really kept my attention and made me realise several things about my own outlooks for career and future life) a slapstick funny look at two experienced salesmen entering a mental hungergames for the opportunity of a lifetime. This film made me wonder two things, one is that really what it's like to work for Google? What are the people like that provide us with the worlds biggest search engine? On more than one occasion i've paused a conversation with 'hang on two secs I'll Google it'.
As the film went on, I found myself relating massively to some of the content. For instance the scene where the kids say not getting the job is the end of their lives. These kids have come from the best schools and are literally fighting it out for a handful of jobs. Everything they do counts towards getting the job or not. Ok so i'm not fighting for a job at one of the worlds biggest companies, but i'm fighting everyday to do the job I enjoy, it's competitive, it's ferocious, changing and never sleeps. So yes I sleep with phone seconds away from my bed, I don't have time to be ill, I don't have time to take days off. Even my trip to the country park; 'ok sweet, but we need to make sure we're back in time so I can get some emails in and check out the last bands on my list'.

I felt a little ashamed of myself that I had forgotten to enjoy what i'm doing, because I had got so caught up in doing it. I decided to take the day to relax, after all I love what I do, it's important to me, the bands and studio but the world isn't going to end if I take a day off. I'd focus on working a bit after dinner. (Umm KG that's still not a day off)

'Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life'
Yes but Confucius didn't live in the 21st century where society evolves faster than mankind. I don't feel the dread of getting up to put a uniform on for a company I secretly despise, but I wake up everyday knowing I have to make it count. I have to make improvements, positive change and build interest for my work. With 7 billion people on the planet, of course there's someone else doing what I do.

As we arrived at the country park I felt a bit odd, tired (I hadn't been sleeping too well) a little stressed, happy but mostly warm, so warm. We wondered off the trail for a while, climbing hills and passing numerous different trees and shrubs. The sun beat down its hot rays; there under the canopy of the trees I felt muggy warm air swilling around my hair and gently blowing the skirt of my dress.

We found a lovely clearing and settled for some nibbles. It was here I chose to lay down, and just exist for a moment. I woke up and wondered how long I had been sleeping for. Rob was still laying in the sun and after a sip of water I decided to take some photos of the surroundings.

I felt uneasy and realised my chest was aching. At the end of last year I started to become unwell with my long-standing asthma condition. Being exposed to mould spores, extreme heat and high dust levels from a place of employment had left me with weakened lungs. The whole of 2014 had been overshadowed by that condition which at times would worsen and render me useless for a couple of days. Due to my work being so important to me, I had not taken any real time to recover, a couple of hours here and there. Countless prescriptions and medicines held me together on a weekly basis.

As we arrived back home and the guys were playing computer games, I could feel a real tightness in my chest. I don't know if you've ever suffered with Asthma but the feeling of not being able to breathe is terrifying. All your energy then focuses on trying to maintain the function that keeps you alive. As the night progressed I became sweatier, wheezier and in a general state of decreased awareness. My inhalers were proving futile and amongst disrupted zeds I was coughing and struggling to keep comfortable.

When the condition was no better in the morning, I started to feel a flurry of panic as I realised I still couldn't breathe properly. Determined not to go to hospital or back to the doctors I tried to focus on getting things done. No, not today KG. Not going to happen.
It was while lying there with loved ones rushing around me to help me that I realised my phone, my work and my tweets weren't going to help me now. My colleagues had been so kind, understanding and caring saying I was right to rest and work could wait, but I felt wasted not being able to offer something to the day. As the sun rose higher in the sky I drifted in and out of sleep, sometimes waking to take my inhaler. My mind urging me to pick up my phone but my lungs ensuring I did not.  I began to think about my life. I wasn't by any means as wealthy as i'd like but that doesn't really matter, I mean after all money won't buy you happiness. Sometimes it just stalls you realising you are happy.
I realised that because my work is my baby, it's my future plans, it's my ambition that I had almost stopped putting any other energy into my life to focus purely on working. Which we all know leads to exhaustion and ultimately running yourself into the ground. Oh.right.

I hadn't even been taking my medication. Stupid girl. How can you take a step back though from the work that you love when it's all you focus on and the industry moves so fast. I felt a little helpless as I drifted off to sleep in the evening, knowing I still felt too unwell to focus on anything but too restless to rest.

It was ever warmer and as I was blisffully immersed in dreamless sleep, the loudest crash and rumbling across the sky awoke me abruptly. Light flickered across my whole bedroom and I suddenly realised it was a storm. I shuddered under my duvet before the second rumble sent me running into the next room yelping. I managed to stub my toe, graze a toe and burn both my hands on the furniture I bounded into.
I'm not normally scared of storms but I was alone and unwell. Realising how tired I was, I retreated back to my bed and pulled the duvet over my head.
A second storm thundered through the sky before morning and it's been so muggy today, I wouldn't be at all surprised if we are graced with more tonight. It's cloudy, muggy and still outside.

It was while resting this morning I realised I had overcome something yesterday; yes the fear of not working fills me with anguish but I realised that if it were all to fall to pieces I have something inherently more beautiful and lasting surrounding me. Love. Not just in the doe-eyed lovestruck kinda sense, in the sense that I have loving parents who would rather I was walking barefoot doing what I love with my time, than working in a pressure cooker of professional ladder climbing environments. For that I think i'm extremely lucky. I've known friends and colleagues with less understanding parents.
I have a wonderful, albeit crazy brother who despite driving me insane, I can't help but want to sit with and chat about all the wonderous things.
I have a modest group of freinds yet trusting, kind friendships with individuals that I both respect and find inspiration in.
The love from my best friend who I couldn't manage without, who has been there for me through everything i've endured and experienced. Who I can call at any time to just chat too, who I can wear no-make up around and cry my heart out too when things are too much. In the non-girlier sense of things, someone I trust and care for an incredible amount, someone I want to see happy and content in all that they do. When they can't be those things and I can't fix them, they know that I will just sit with and pass the time with until they are feeling better. Someone I can spend time with everyday and not tire of, someone who's passion for their art inspires me to stick at mine.
That's when I realised, i'm not wealthy in finances, I don't jet off to exotic places and this year i've had to grow up quicker than I ever have in the 25 years previous to this. I feel wealthy; I have a place to call home (it's not perfect but it's sure not the worse place i've ever lived or learnt about) I have loving family and friends who support my maniacal ideas and allow me to use my time to pursue them. I no longer pursue dreams of fame, riches because i've learnt that not all treasure is silver and gold. That being known does not mean you'll never feel alone.

As if by some odd twist of fate, I decided not to work today, I could but I still didn't feel particularly well and for once, I wanted to recover before embarking back on my quest. I instead watched 'About Time' one of my favourite films. It's an ordinary story explained in an extraordinary way. It's one of the most uplifting films i've watched. That we don't need to repeat the days we live, we don't need to hope for better. We just have to live each day as though it's the day we've gone back to change. The film itself has a real honest feel to it, as though it could be about one of your friends lives. It's the beautiful simplicity that makes this film one of my absolute favourites.
With that, resting and a mind full of thoughts, I write this post. It wasn't the OOTD or lifestyle posts I had intended but it is infact my realisation that life is not what you do, it's how you do it. Whether you're a retailer, writer, musician, housewife or lawyer, when you find yourself doubting things and seeing a negative shadow on your life, take a moment to change what you perceive. Your biggest challenges still lie ahead and you won't make it out alive so make it count and enjoy it.
'Some days you want to relive forever, some days you only want to live once'

♬ ☾ COSMIC DUST ☾ ♬

Sorry it's been quite a while since I last posted here, but to be honest I think I was waiting until I was ready with a direction for my posts. LITTLEBEARWOLF is my hub for all things MUSIC. This is my place to share my other passions with you, my adventures as such. The thing was though, I was sort of having a passion block; odd right? Considering the work I do, I LOVE. I just couldn't muster the enthusiasm to portray anything worthwhile. I was taught growing up, 'If you have nothing interesting or helpful to say, say nothing at all'.

I've been thinking a lot recently, about 'HAPPINESS' which for such a joyous word seems to be appearing more and more of a tabboo subject. I think this is partly because we are taught from a young age that we must be successful and have dreams and hopes and wealth to be happy. If another celebrity rehab stint isn't enough to convince you otherwise, I don't know what will. I've learnt from living away from home, in my most depressed chapter, where I felt like a prisoner in my own life, living off hand me down tins of food and the kindness of those around me; that it's in our most basic stages we can achieve the truest kind of happiness.

Although I am eternally greatful to no longer be in that situation in that chapter, what it taught me, will stay with me forever. I am stronger than I think. I can be happy with very little and above all else it is how you live your life, not what you do with it, that in the end will bring you happiness.

Each of us are different, no one looks exactly the same, feels the same or has all the same loves. I think life is not so much about finding yourself but creating yourself. It isn't until your mid to late twenties that you even sort of come into your own skin. If I take anything from my peers, is that enjoy the journey of growing older, of living your life. I feel at my best right now in my life. I've been better off, I've been more innocent but I am happy now. When I look in the mirror, I see me and that's something no-one can take away from me.

Life is so unbelievably fragile, it's over in the blink of an eye. Recently I've read mottos 'DON'T TAKE LIFE TOO SERIOUSLY, IT'S NOT AS THOUGH YOU'LL MAKE IT OUT ALIVE'. I particularly like this one. 'YOU'RE A SPEC OF COSMIC DUST TO THE UNIVERSE, WHATEVER YOU DO IS GOING TO HAVE NO LASTING EFFECT ON THE UNIVERSE SO DON'T STRESS IT'. Alright, so they have the potential to be the biggest murderers of motivation, 'If I'm so inconsequential, what's the point'. At the same time, they're true. Maybe you'll think theres no point and do nothing. PERHAPS you'll think, 'okay, overall it's going to have no lasting effect but F*** it, I'm going to give my all anyway'. When it's over, you will say 'I DID IT' rather than I wish I had done it.

Don't harm others, don't bring hatred to the world. I see many people attacking others instead of facing their own demons. Your demons will never go while you manifest them, so if something is troubling you, seek it out, remove it from your life. Bringing others pain, will get you nowhere in the long run.

I try not to think too hard on what life is all about, I try not to think too hard on what comes after. I prefer to wake up and face my day. Just remember that everything inside your little box is nothing compared to the box the Earth sits in and in turn the box the universe sits in. Time and life will carry on, sometimes you'll feel like you really want to go no further. I have those days and I can't stand them. I urge you to keep going, keep breathing. I can't tell you why, but all I can say is i'm glad I haven't stopped because life is beautiful, sometimes you just have to look a little harder to see it.

There will be BAD days. There will be days that you never want to live again. There will also be AMAZING days, days you will think of and reminisce on for all time to come. Take what you will from life and remember only you can be you. While you may have no lasting effect on the universe, you have a lasting effect on the people you meet. On the people you share time with.
Happiness isn't what you do with your life. It's how you live your life.

 John Lennon once said

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.”

So whatever you're doing today, whoever you're with or not with. Remember it's not going to be a great day because of what you do, it's going to be a great day because of how you use your time.

Life is a constant balancing act of family, friends, career infused with all your human emotions. Of course it's going to be a trainwreck from time to time, allow yourself to make mistakes.
A 1000 years ago, we weren't worried whether we had the latest trends down, whether we had a 3 or 6 bedroom house in a good neighbourhood. We were worried about taking shelter from storms, finding enough food to survive. While society has evolved. Humans still need those basic things. You don't need the latest designer shoes, you do need clean water. We're very lucky that we live in a society where those things are provided on tap. It's nice to have designer treats. You don't NEED them.
We need very little to survive, it seems we've been mis-taught we need A LOT to really live. This here my little corner of the web, is my place to share my little adventures and life with you. I live in a 21st century country where I am lucky to be able to make my own choices and do what motivates me. I'm not looking for mansions and money. I'm just here trying to make it through each of my given days. I'd say i'm a hippy trying to make it in a world of robots and skyscrapers. I'd rather live in a hobbit-house and eat bread and cheese, grow my own vegetables and sleep under the stars. Maybe one day i'll find a way to do both. Maybe I won't want those things at all this time next year. Either way, they aren't a today problem.
I hope you'll pop back and enjoy my posts. Please feel free to share your thoughts on my posts by leaving comments.

Aloha!

The world seems to be in such a rush to be grown up these days, I wonder what happened to innocence?  Though really this has been the case all through the time of humanity. In the old days people were born as mini adults, taking classes in etiquette and learning the trades of their fathers. Throughout the fifties, kids took music and started to rebel against the adults, but to be their own versions of adults. In modern day society, I see girls and boys running round with beats headphones, hollister jackets and the latest nike's.

Times change and people move with it, I understand that. Why are we so intent on the pursuit of happiness and believe that happiness is success, wealth, achieving. Is it not just enough to be happy in the pursuit of dreams. I read a very interesting article from a journal that said, 'happiness is not something you achieve, it's a way of life'. I realise that it doesn't matter how you get there it's how you feel about getting there.

I personally don't crave marriage, I'd like to get married one day, if and when the time is right, the person is right but it isn't the wedding I crave. I'm told a wedding is the happiest day of any girls life. I can understand to an extent why, the romance and celebration of love. It just seems to me that if your wedding is your lifes highlight, then you have not experienced all that life has to offer. It shouldn't last for just one day, it should be the adventure you share in the years to follow that day, that are your happiest.

I don't want for a mortgage or to own a property. Again, perhaps one day ten years from now I might, but as it stands right now, it is not a priority. I don't know what I want from tomorrow let alone fifty years from now. I don't know if I'll have a job that allows me to pay for that mortgage ten years from now, let alone fifty.

I don't have plans to build a family, maybe a few years from now, I might. I certainly right now do not count it as a future plan. It doesn't make me a bad person, it just means, I'm able to stand up and say that right now, my dreams are my own, it would be unfair to a child who would look to me for everything to bring them into the world because I thought it's what I should be doing.

All of those things, they don't make me irresponsible. They don't make me incapable. I'm sure if I was married, with a house and a family I would be incredibly happy. It's just not the route i've chosen currently. I'll never say never, but I also won't allow societies views of success to form my direction and choices.

I don't judge anyone who has those things either, I have friends getting married who I am incredibly happy for. I wish them a lifetime of happiness, they are lucky to be in that chapter where they have decided the time is right to spend the rest of their lives together. I have friends with houses that are cosy, warm, a place to call their own. I admire them for that, it must be awesome to wake up in a room that you own, that if you decided to paint bright orange, no one could stop you! I have friends with the most beautiful and talented children i've ever been blessed to meet, who may drive their parents crazy from time to time but mean everything to them at the same time. I am mostly proud of them for living their lives and doing what they want with their lives. I am simply doing the same, just my tale is different to theirs, the same as theirs are different to the next person.

That is why right now, moving back to my parents was the best choice I ever made. It meant I wasn't forced into a situation that may have been wrong in the long run. They allowed me to come home, to  think on everything that I was doing and wished to be doing. My mum has been ill as some of you will know, it is a very personal thing to our family and I don't wish to share it publicly. Moving home means I can be with her whenever I need, it means I can help look after her.
My parents have given me the opportunity to do things right for me. I owe them everything for that.
'I'd rather you were happy and home and then sturggling and alone'. I'll never forget that.

I have lived away from home, I have lived in different cities and seen new places. I have studied and worked. I have discovered the things I am passionate about and give my whole self too. Moving home has given me the opportunity to be who I want to be. In my own time.
We only live once in this life, this body. So be who you want to be, do the things that make you happy, spend time with the people who are precious to you. Don't judge others on their choices, don't cause sadness or suffering. Understand this, it's not what you have, what you do or what you are, its how you live, how you do what you do and how you are as a person, how you live your days.
We all are capable of happiness, we all have the opportunity to be happy everyday, the posessions and things we build up around us are not going to bring you that happiness. In the end, we are but ants to the universe and that is why we must make the most of the very limited time we are given.

However you are spending your Tuesday, revel in it. The clouds are thick and grey here in Hampshire today, but there is a silver lining filled with the suns warmth behind them. So stop and pause everynow and then to appreciate the beauty of everything. Somedays we would only want to live once if not at all, others we would live over and over again. Make the most of the ones that you want to live over and over, because at the end of things, you don't want to be left with only the ones you wished you hadn't seen.

Oceans are wide, the sky is home to a billion and more stars, dinosaurs once ruled the planet, men have walked on the moon, Muddy Waters sang the blues, what are you going to do with your today?

Aloha!

Today has been busy but in a kind of relaxed way. Lots of ideas buzzing through my head though! I thought i'd try Valerian tea to help me sleep later. So for those of you that have paid a visit here, thank you. The posts have been somewhat vague, a sort of half introduction to myself, but my music blog is my passion and has been taking my time.
However I decided to start this and I mean to go on, it's just a sort of learning curve finding my voice and filling the space with that voice!
I've made my passion my work and through that i've had to make choices about what worked and didn't work. I've also done this in my personal life too as I was carrying the thoughts of others on my shoulders constantly. This again has been a learning curve. For the first time in my life, I've actually stood up for myself and made choices about those I feel are not my actual friends or really supportive at all.
Focusing my energy on that, had started to bring my general mood down, I figured I needed a way to forget all of that, to forget the negativity that will become history to me rather than my future. The best way to do that I found, was by focusing on the people who make me happy and inspire me on a daily basis!
That for me, includes these incredible bloggers, who continue to inspire me on a daily basis!

I read these blogs on a weekly basis, they inspire me to make the most of my time and enjoy what I have to share with people. All of these girls have made their mark on the blogging world and I hope they will continue to keep blogging well into the future too.

There are hundreds of thousands of blogs on the internet and it takes time, love and attention to create and keep one running. LITTLEBEARWOLF music blog is my passion. LITTLEBEARWOLFCOVE is everything else. Together they take up most of my time, but right now, that's exactly how I wish to be spending my time. So please do pop back to both, daily, weekly, whenever you like.

I have an exciting music feature to post on LBW tonight, so be sure to check it out!

Aloha!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their week. I haven't managed to post here for a few days as it's been manic at the recording studio and then I had my birthday yesterday.
Hence my post tonight, I was thinking yesterday how much things had changed for me in just a year since starting littlebearwolf. That got me thinking about a lot of things that have happened recently.

We are all children really, even those who are in their 70s and 80s tell me that they still feel the same as they did when they were younger, they still fear what they don't know. They come to accept what they don't know and make the most of what they do know. I've come to understand recently just how fragile our lives are. Mostly though, how you can't change the past, you can't predict the future. You only have the here and now to play with.
I thought for a while on this, the energy and time we have is precious. Everyday people are living their lives, it's all we really can do. That time and energy cannot be replaced. It is the individuals choice on how they use theirs.
With that I have had a sort of personal and professional life cull. I've had to consider how I can use my energy to make the most of the time I've been given. I'm human and I make mistakes. I try my best to amend the mistakes I've made and learn from them.
I understand that in life nothing stays the same forever. Our relationships, friendships, ideals, passions all grow with us and change as we do. I recently found out that a couple of people I had considered my closest friends (even despite gaps in time spent together, I was still proud of them and encouraging of their ambitions, I thought that feeling was mutual) weren't. In fact it emerged a couple of days after I had initially spoken with them on the matter, from a couple of other people just how transparent and false our 'friendship' had been. From the things I was told had been shared about me from 'friends' I was disgusted that they treat their friends in such a way. My trusted friends pointed out, if that's how they are, they probably don't have many real friends at all, that's why partly they get down from time to time. With that and some helpful advice from my trusted friends, I made my decision to no longer burden myself with the stress of false people.
Since what I call my epiphany, though it was really the turning point for my independent life to start, I have been able to let go of pain and hurt in a calm and gentle manner. I can forgive, I will forget, I won't be treated as a servant, to only fulfill their job when I am needed. I am free and that means that even those closest to me, will have to understand there are boundaries you do not cross, the same as I do, with them.
I take a lot of inspiration from various people and cultures. I don't compare myself to any of them though, especially those I am close too. Once you start to look at other people and compare yourself to them, you instantly change the dynamic of that relationship and it rarely survives. I know because I've been there before.
'Sometimes holding on makes you stronger, sometimes it's letting go'.
I will always be KG. Not all those who wander, are lost.

I am just following my dreams and living from day to day, taking in all the small things. I have been super busy of late with a whole bunch of music based work, which I cannot wait to share with everyone on littlebearwolf! As well as some other projects that are now starting to take shape. I had an epic birthday celebrating with my close friends, my family. I will be posting pictures from the day I turned 26 right here on littlebearwolfcove shortly! So please do pop back.

T H E // D A Y // O F F

Aloha!

I have been so busy this week. I started the week under a bit of a grey cloud. I made the decision to end a few friendships that I feel have been a bit of a negative energy in my life for some time. After making that choice, I moved quickly on as I realised without focusing on negative energy just how much good I actually had in my life to be focusing on!

With that I have been crazy busy, getting my business off the ground, continuing with my music blogging adventure, redesigning and ordering business cards, planning lessons, meetings, writing and booking gigs into my calendar.

All of a sudden it seems it's May! My birthdays coming up pretty quickly, which is very exciting. At 24 I made a lof of changes and started my whole life in a new direction, by 25 I was a few months in and I have spent the last year building that direction to be my career, my life and everything imbetween!

Part of the reason I am blogging here, about my adventures is because how much the music blog has expanded now.
So yes, I am excited to be 26, because it's the next step in my adventure and I am quite excited with where everything is heading!

The next few days are more business meetings, blogs, covering and shooting at gigs as well as meeting old friends and starting early birthday celebrations. Yesterday (Wed 30th April) was the year anniversary from the gig I put on with a friend. I spent it with my best friend in the entire world.

We took the dogs for a walk in the morning to the beach, it was awesome running after them and watching them splash about in the ocean. We then took the dogs home and dropped them off, before heading back out for a walk along the beach.

The weather had brightened up again, the sun was so warm and everything looked as though it was coming alive with colour! We headed to the beach cafe for refreshment. The lemon cake slice we shared was heavenly. Slight zest and light fluffy mix, it was delightful!
On the way back, we took a detour and went to sit on the jetty close to the flat. It was so lovely sitting in the sunshine, looking over the creek. We even saw some little fishes swimming about, then some even tinier ones!

We then headed out and bought lunch. I've been vegetarian now for about six months. It was a struggle at first, though now I am finding it more suitable for my body than any previous nutrition plans. We made vegetarian chilli on jacket potatoes, it was so delicious!

So full by that point, we watched a blues documentary. I love music documentaries. It was fascinating and featured some of my favourite musicians.
We had a second cheeky cake that day, custard donuts! Yummy!

We then sat and played guitar, I am a little bit obsessed with sliding. I love the sound it makes. It was great fun to learn how to do it! I can do 'Amazing Grace', just about!
It was at this point I decided after a big day of fun things I was ready to embrace bed and make perfect little zeds!

I slept so well and have managed to be quite productive today, though there's still quite a lot to do in the next two days, I can't wait for Sunday for relaxing and gigging!

Have a wonderful end to the week and I will be back here soon with more adventures and updates!

T H E // P R E T E N D E R

Aloha,

Today's post mirrors the weather, slightly overcast but with a bright silver lining shining through the clouds. I'm writing this particular post because it's something we all go through, something we don't particularly understand. For me has taken almost a year to come to terms with.

When a relationship comes to the end of it's time, you agree to be friends, so what are you supposed to do when a friendship comes to the end of it's time? Especially one that appeared to have been a close bond but that actually you realise was nothing more than illusions in the long run.

It's hard but you have to let that person go, a friendship that is strong, will withstand distance and mistakes time after time. Time after time I was willing this friendship to work out, but when I eventually saw all the pieces clearly, I wondered why I had been trying to salvage a half romanticised memory of a person I barely knew anymore.

For that reason I won't go into specifics, I don't need them clouding my thoughts. This is my goodbye, my reasons and my closure for one in particular, but several friendships in total.

When I think of old friendships I know that even though time has passed and many things have happened, we are still friends. We'd have a good time catching up, nothing hidden, just purely a good time creating renewed memories of a friendship that has lasted.
However when I think of others, I've come to realise that the time passed has withered our friendships. Catching up is simply a means to an end in finding out just what i've been doing with my time (which to a real friend wouldn't matter either way and though may be talked about, would not be with hooks looking for answers). Perhaps your newsfeeds aren't providing you with the information you crave, even your little birds can't quench that thirst for answers.

I didn't realise this was how it was at first, you realise because that is not how I treat my friendships. In fact I tend to remember only the good which made remembering the harsh memories all the more painful and being reminded of things that at the time felt like daggers in my spine.
I don't have all the answers and I don't have a clue about life, i'm just living mine a day at a time. You needn't worry what I'm up to because you are you, you have your own life to live.

The difference between us, is that where you lost your fire, I found a way to burn mine brightly. What I once thought was sisterhood I look back on and see the malice and spite in many of your actions towards me.

The mistakes I made that had ripples in our friendship were not done with spite, but with naivety. The venom you exacted to poisoned my mind was a careful measurement, whether you intentionally meant it or not.
I have wondered in recent times whether when you at first decided I wasn't to be liked, that was in fact the long truth of our so called friendship.
Just finding ways to prove yourself better than I, which you really needn't have done because I never once considered myself better than you.
Except I don't dwell on it anymore. In fact I barely think of it at all. Vengeance only finds a way of coming back to harm you. I wish you a life of contentment in all that you do. The same as I would wish to any person I do not know all that well, because if we are honest, we are but familiar strangers.

I think a part of our friendship had been real, but your demons took control and tried to take me down with you, except you weren't the first and by the time I realised what you were doing, I had already burned many of my demons and though it took time I managed to keep yours from creating more in my mind.

I'm not the girl you once knew, the same as you are not the girl I once knew. We've grown and I think fair to say apart. I find myself learning everyday. I make no apologies for people who masquerade as friends when their agendas are not as hidden as they may like to believe.

Know only this, true friends. Years and mistakes make no difference on the bond we share. My energy and well being only increase when I am around them.
So if you find yourself deflated and untrusting, trust your instincts and walk away.
No need for negativity to be shared anymore, there's enough of it in the world. Chances are you aren't the only one feeling this way about that person and they aren't only treating you like it. When we have demons we can't face, we lash out at those around us we feel are without demons.
For whatever their reason whether it's jelousy, insecurity, fomo or something else if you consistently try to shield yourself from their negative vibes you will waste energy and time that could be put to far better use.

To those people who are now either realising that a knife will only go so far before it hits the spine or are deluded enough to still hunger for answers...

I am KG, I am many things, I am learning as much today as I was at 16. I know none of the answers to life, the difference is now I know I have none of these answers. Some parts of my journey are just beginning while others are in full swing. I love my family, friends unconditionally. I give myself completely to everything that is important to me. I am happy with my journey, my choices. I have good people in my life that I trust and no I don't really miss the old days because i'm too busy living today.

N E V E R // C A G E // A // B U T T E R F L Y

Aloha!

Thank you so much for joining me this evening. If you have come from L I T T L E B E A R W O L F, welcome welcome!! If you are joining me for the first time today, welcome, hello!

For those of you who have never met a littlebearwolf before, aloha! I am Krystal Gemma, KG and I created and run littlebearwolf music blog. The arts are my passion, my blog is my baby, the bands are my family and as for home, well let's just say,

I am a nomad of life. I choose to wander, to create. I've no interest in the rat race and the wealth of kings. For me wealth is staring out over the ocean at sunset, standing at the top of the highest hill and staring at the forests below you. Love is that feeling of absolute happiness you get when you're in the company of friends, when you're creating your art, when your drinking cider and eating coconut bread.

This blog, this is my space to share all of that with you, with my brothers and sisters. I've not lived many years but in the years I have lived, I've learnt what loss, stress, pain, anger, jealousy feel like. I've felt trusted swords pierce my heart and back, i've felt the pain of those I too stabbed in the back and the heart for whatever gain I felt it would bring me at that time.

I've felt love, happiness, peace, joy and known friendship too. Those feelings those are the ones I will focus on here. My music blog is my passion, as it grows I do too, littlebearwolfcove, is more personal. It's the girl behind the music. I've created this blog as a space to share the rest of my art with you all.

As I said the arts are my passion, music is my life force, performance and art are my love. When I was asked as a child what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said 'Actress'. I remember from such a young age wondering why all the people around me wanted to be just one thing. As I grew older, I started to realise, I didn't want to be an actress for the 'benefits', I wanted to be an actress simply because being anything else for more than a day seemed so dull.

I remember walking home from school one day with a girl, we were talking about who we would be in the future, she said she wanted to work with animals. She seemed almost disgusted when I gave her my answer. 'I want to be an actress, an astronaut, an explorer, a writer, an artist, I want to try a million jobs and then a hundred more'.

'You'll never be all those things, besides if you have too many jobs on your CV people will think you're unreliable and won't want to hire you'.

DULL. DULL. DULL. My career advisor told me I would struggle to make a career in the arts. He wasn't lying but what he failed to tell me was the enjoyment I would get out of trying!
Sure there are days when I wonder if I used my skillset and experience to pursue management positions of the wonderous treasures I could hoard and the most expensive hand made Italian lace wedding dress money could buy, to impress the most gorgeous well dressed suit I could get my hands on.

That just isn't me, I know that girl would be happy of sorts but she would never be truly free. I'd rather live in a tree house, eating bread and spending my evenings watching the stars. I live in England and it's the 21st century. No tree house for me.

So where does that leave this now mid-twenties graduate who would rather chase the sun and play with wooden swords than find a husband and settle down.
FREE

That's also the beauty of living in England in the 21st century, I'm not being forced into a marriage and i'm not being told I must be a housewife. I am told I can do whatever I want to do. So why on earth do I find myself moaning.
Because with the world at your feet and youth on your side, how on earth are you supposed to pick just one thing?! How am I supposed to know at 13 what I'll want when i'm 35?! I'm 25 and I don't even know what i'd like for dinner tonight!

Perhaps you think i'm ridiculous, unreliable and pretentious. You'd be joined by just about all the faces I called FRIEND at college.
If you're still reading, perhaps you think somewhere amongst all the crazy there is a hint of sanity. I might be a total dreamer, spend most of my time in another world and walk around dressed like i'm playing dress up most of the time.
I'm also dedicated, when I set my heart on something I won't stop until it's done. I am creative and I like people, everyone is so different and interesting. I like to be involved and get stuck in. I even quite like my own company (sometimes. Too much of something is never a good thing).
So if you're reading this and thinking 'oh my' she's the girl who's just applied for the job. I'm professional, I care about my work a great deal. I wholeheartedly believe in all the musicians I work with and take that faith into any of my projects. Know this, I may not be the wisest, fastest or have the most experience but what I do know is that I've learnt what I value. So chances are if you're looking at me as a prospective employee, I've already decided it's worth the fight and I want in to work with you. If you've just met me and I told you to check out my blog, I must like you because I'm willing you to read my craziness and expect you to still want to be my friend after.
If you already know my face than chances are you've accepted me and know that this is exactly the kind of nonsensical mutterings I will hammer on about but that when you need me, I'll be there for you.

To sum it all up, this blog is my little corner of the web where I can share my adventure with you. You don't have to come back, but together with my work, this makes up the career I have in life. So I will continue to be me, maybe one day that me will be mother to kids, maybe she will be a laywer living in the heart of London but for now she's a freespirit who if she had to call herself by a profession would be blogger, photographer, performer, artist aiming to be jack of all creative trades.

If you stand on my wings, I will only fight harder to fly.

My work remains at littlebearwolf, but this here, is where I will share the little things that make the personal side of KG a happy life to live as well as my passions in performance and art.
